Paratha bread is a crispy, buttery and flaky flat bread. It is also eaten in other countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Bangladesh. The exact meaning of paratha is layers of cooked dough.

Paratha is a circular and creamy white colored south Indian traditional product. This bread traditionally served as breakfast item and eaten hot alongside dishes such as curry and chutney.

Paratha are made from wheat flour and fried with ghee. The main ingredient for paratha: wheat flour, salt, water. Eggs and sugar are optional.

They can be made plain or filled with a spiced potato mixture to egg and minced meat and then deep fried.
